Gloucestershire Safer & Stronger Communities Partnership (GSSCP) is a team of statutory agency chief officers and partnership leads assisted by the voluntary sector, which ensures the countywide delivery of the national ‘Updated Drugs Strategy’ and Gloucestershire’s Alcohol Strategy. It has responsibilities for the Safer and Stronger outcomes of the Local Area Agreement (LAA) 2007- 2010 where It brings together the work of the county’s six district Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships.
The GSSCP is chaired in 2007/8 by Mick Matthews, Assistant Chief Constable, Gloucestershire Constabulary, and the Health Community is represented by Jan Stubbings, Chief Executive, Gloucestershire PCT.
The Drug and Alcohol Team (the DAAT) is a small staff team working countywide on behalf of the GSSCP, with a lead role for coordinating and commissioning the national Updated Drugs Strategy and local Alcohol Strategy. It leads on the delivery of the Drug and Alcohol outcomes within the LAA.
Colin Hassall, Head of DAAT, leads on the LAA Outcomes, Reducing Supply, Tackling Drug Related Crime, Young People's substance misuse (See YPSM Plan below) and the Alcohol strategy (below) ;
Steve O'Neill, Adult Treatment Joint Commissioning Manager, leads on Adult Treatment Services (See Adult Drug Treatment Plan below), supported by Christine Godfrey, DAAT Finance and Information Officer.
Alison Hustwitt, Communities Manager, leads on the inter-agency work with Communities, and the district based Substance Action Groups (SAGS). She manages the Service User Team, Dave Stork and Nigel Calvert, and the Parents, Carers and Concerned Others Development Worker, Andrea Wilson.
