Non-Executive Director appointed to Gloucestershire Care Services CIC Board

Gloucestershire resident, Rob Graves has been named as a Non Executive Director for a new Social Enterprise organisation that looks set to provide community health services from later this year.

The Social Enterprise’s stated aim is to give users and staff more of a say on how services are run for the benefit of individuals and local communities with more direct involvement in their design and development.

The Social Enterprise, called Gloucestershire Care Services Community Interest Company (CIC), is expected to take over management of NHS funded community services currently delivered by NHS Gloucestershire Care Services. The development of a social enterprise organisation is currently subject to an assurance process by NHS South West.

Together with the Chair Designate, Ingrid Barker and other members of the Board (still to be appointed), Rob will play a key role in ensuring that the culture and direction of the organisation are in tune with the its underlying purpose and the needs of the local community it serves.

Rob will also help to oversee the development of external relationships with local residents, patients, local government and other partner organisations. He will chair the organisation’s audit committee.

New Non Executive Director, Rob said:

Welcoming the appointment, Chair designate of Gloucestershire Care Services CIC, Ingrid Barker said:

“I congratulate Rob on his appointment and I believe that someone with his obvious finance experience and knowledge will help ensure that Gloucestershire Care Services CIC will have the best possible start.

“His knowledge of local health services gained from his role as a Non Executive Director of the NHS Gloucestershire Board, coupled with his financial acumen will provide us with a strong foundation within the new Board.
