Patient and Public Involvement
How to 'Get Involved'
There are many ways in which members of the public, patients and the carers can ‘get involved’ to shape local health services. These include:
- Joining a patient, user or carer group at a local hospital or GP practice or wherever patients receive a service
- Becoming a patient representative on a specific service working group e.g. Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease
- Joining the Local Involvement Network (LINk) or a local Community Group
- Become a volunteer in a local hospital or clinic
- Finding out more about the Expert Patient Programme which aims to help people living with chronic illness
- Completing a survey to tell us your views
- Commenting on public consultations
